This remote thermal basin, the most southernmost RLMO site we have surveyed along the Yellowstone caldera, requires 2-3 days of backpacking (with 2-4 river fords) to access. Consequently, no water chemistry data was done. This mat was one of many similar features up the Ferris Fork. Despite the bad weather, difficult conditions, and a rushed trip, we all hope to return to this fascinating region. To date, we have only archived mat temperature/pH, site/mat images, and pigment profile data.
