Hillside Springs consist of three thermal sources that flow out from the prominent hillside above the region between Biscuit and Black Sand Basins. The springs are significantly off-trail and require some navigation to find. We have surveyed and sampled these springs annually since 1998. Only the first two springs contain important red layer communities in this study. This data entry refers to Hillside I. We have more long-term data about Hillside II (Hillside Site).
