    POLICY

    Western Oregon University's intent is to adhere to the provisions of the US 
    Copyright Law.  Any staff member who willfully disregards the copyright 
    law will be violating University Policy and, in doing so, will assume all 
    liability.
    
    
    

    PURPOSE

    Staff members and students will adhere to the provisions of the US 
    Copyright Law.  Areas of emphasis are the Library and Educational Media.  
    Services rendered by these areas will be denied to anyone who is found to 
    be violating the provisions of the law.
    
    
    

    PROCEDURES

    Educational Media and the Library have available to all users copies of 
    their procedures for use in complying with the US Copyright Law.  
    Additionally, information regarding the law is available in the Library.
    
    
    

    AUTHORITY

    US Copyright Law (Title 17, United States Code Sec. 101 et seq.)
    
    
    

    APPROVAL

    Provost, Director of the Library and Director of Educational Media
