POLICY
It is considered unethical for students to interview with a recruiter on campus
"just for practice". Doing so takes advantage of recruiters and limits
interviewing opportunities for other students who may be sincerely interested in
the organization's opportunities. Students are encouraged to make appointments
to do mock interviews with a counselor in order to gain interviewing experience.
The sign up sheets for interview schedules will be available to students two
weeks before the scheduled interview day. Students may not sign up for an
interview before that time. Students may sign up for interviews on a first-
come, first-served basis.
Preference for on-campus interviews is given to students who will be graduating
or completing their post-baccalaureate work during current academic year (Fall
term through Summer term). Alumni may interview on a space-available basis. If
such space is available alumni can sign-up for interviews on a first-come,
first-serve basis.
If there are more students desiring to be interviewed than there are interview
times available, a waiting list will be maintained. Names of alumni desiring an
interview will also be placed on the waiting list. If interview spaces become
available (due to cancellations or additions to the interview schedule), people
on the waiting list will be called, in order, the day before the interviews.
If students/alumni cannot make a scheduled interview, they should notify the
Office of Career Services at least 24 hours before the interview so that another
student can have the opportunity to interview. A person who fails to cancel an
interview (a "no-show") will be asked to send Career Services and the recruiting
organization a letter of apology. Anyone failing to write such a letter is
prohibited from interviewing on-campus for the remainder of the academic year.
Education students who wish to interview must provide Career Services with a
placement file by the day before the scheduled interview. Even if letters of
recommendation are not completed, students should still turn in a typed Personal
Information Form and Summary of Academic Credits. A copy of each will be
provided to the interviewer.
Liberal Arts students must submit a resume or a typed Personal Information Form
by the day before the schedule interview at the latest. A copy will be provided
to the interviewer.
