This documentary from the National Film Board of Canada follows the searing, emotional journey of Canadian Lt-General Romeo Dallaire, who commanded the UN peacekeeping mission in Rwanda in 1994.
Over 100 days, 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were slaughtered as the international community turned its back and ignored Dallaire's cries for help.
Dallaire reveals the personal cost of bearing witness to a genocide he was powerless to stop. Filmed during his first returen to Rwanda ten years later, in April 2004.
