I decided to come to Western Oregon and major in geography

So besides finishing my senior classes I'm also working a job with the Oregon Department of State Lands in Salem, Oregon.

And I'm working on a project team

to discover what the navigable river shoreline boundaries were for all of Oregon's rivers at statehood.

Using GIS and aerial photography as well as lidar technology

we look at images as far back as 1939

to determine what the historic boundaries of a river might have been.

After I graduate I really hope I can continue learning and continue working with the Department of State Lands.

This project has intertwined three of my passions with history, the environment, and GIS.
