Wanting to fly, Mike entered the Air Force and served for 30 years 00:00:57.000 --> 00:00:61.000 retiring as a colonel after 12 years in The Pentagon. 00:01:01.000 --> 00:01:08.000 His second career was for the Department of Defense Education System where he served as Senior Executive, 00:01:08.000 --> 00:01:14.000 Chief of Staff, and Chief of Legislation, Policy and Plans. 00:01:14.000 --> 00:01:19.000 Mike currently develops and organizes college scholarships for the Lebanon Schools Foundation 00:01:19.000 --> 00:01:22.000 and Lincoln High School in Portland. 00:01:22.000 --> 00:01:29.000 Mike is also proud to have served as the Air Force member of the Presidential Commission on Women In Combat. 00:01:29.000 --> 00:01:39.000 Our next honoree is Curt Davis. During his time at OCE, Curt was a 2 sport athlete, competing in both football and wrestling 00:01:39.000 --> 00:01:46.000 and lead his team to a 6 place finish at the NAIA Wrestling Championship in 1972. 00:01:46.000 --> 00:01:51.000 Following his college career, Curt became a teacher and coached both football and wrestling. 00:01:52.000 --> 00:01:57.000 He says, in addition to the basic curriculum, he enjoyed teaching calligraphy to his fifth graders 00:01:57.000 --> 00:01:64.000 and going on field trips to dig for thunder eggs. Curt says he's honored to have become a member 00:02:04.000 --> 00:02:12.000 of the Western Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021 and to have 7 family members play football for WOU. 00:02:12.000 --> 00:02:16.000 Our final honoree is Maureen Davis, Curt's wife. 00:02:16.000 --> 00:02:21.000 Maureen is a former elementary school teacher and the mother of 2 sons. 00:02:21.000 --> 00:02:26.000 Maureen entered OCE at 17 and lived in Todd Hall. 00:02:26.000 --> 00:02:31.000 She says her time here was a beginning of a lifetime in all aspects of education. 00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:35.000 Maureen coached the Redmond High cheer squad for 16 years 00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:39.000 and was named Oregon Coach of the Year in 1996. 00:02:40.000 --> 00:02:48.000 Maureen and Curt live on a 160 acre farm in Culver, Oregon where they are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. 00:02:48.000 --> 00:02:54.000 music
