Come on, let take a look inside. 00:01:03.000 --> 00:01:09.000 WUC is where students come to eat, study, play games or just relax with friends. 00:01:09.000 --> 00:01:16.000 There are extra services here too, such as the Multicultural Student Service Department and the Service Learning & Career Development Center. 00:01:16.000 --> 00:01:21.000 Along with the student newspaper, radio station and student government. 00:01:21.000 --> 00:01:24.000 By far, the coolest building on campus is Ackerman Hall. 00:01:24.000 --> 00:01:28.000 Recently voted one of the top ten greenest residence halls in the world. 00:01:28.000 --> 00:01:33.000 From solar panels on the roof to recycling nooks and study areas with repurposed wood furniture. 00:01:33.000 --> 00:01:37.000 Ackerman makes you proud to be a Western Oregon University student. 00:01:37.000 --> 00:01:41.000 Sometime's it just makes sense to get out of your room to study. 00:01:41.000 --> 00:01:45.000 When that time comes, students can go one of several computer labs on campus. 00:01:45.000 --> 00:01:47.000 I like to go to Hamersly Library. 00:01:47.000 --> 00:01:53.000 Hamersly has group study areas, computers and the usual reference and reading materials. 00:01:53.000 --> 00:01:59.000 Oops down here, it's okay I know what you're looking at, it's our Giant Sequoia. 00:01:59.000 --> 00:01:68.000 This tree was planted by the graduating class of 1887 in front of Campbell Hall. It's now 123 feet tall and is one of the best-known landmarks on campus. 00:02:08.000 --> 00:02:14.000 Every year, WOU draws hundreds of local residents and students to the Holiday Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony. 00:02:14.000 --> 00:02:16.000 Just one of several campus, community events. 00:02:17.000 --> 00:02:22.000 Even though I'm not a popular music major, I think our new production studio is awesome. 00:02:22.000 --> 00:02:26.000 It has a large control room and several sound booths for recording separate tracks. 00:02:26.000 --> 00:02:32.000 In the lobby of APSC, you'll find the latest mural by WOU art students and faculty. 00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:38.000 Created by a visual communication design major, the mural depicts the landscape around Western and the Pacific Northwest. 00:02:39.000 --> 00:02:45.000 There's always something happening near the residence halls or you can join a club and participate in student celebrations. 00:02:45.000 --> 00:02:53.000 Well, that covers my favorite spots on campus. Once you start exploring, I'm sure you'll find more, if you're not going to get coffee, bye. 00:02:53.000 --> 00:02:63.000 music
