I want to talk a little bit about Western's Wolf Connection System, also known as WCS.

WCS is  an online early alert and intervention program

designed to assist students that are struggling academically.

The Wolf Connection System allows faculty and staff to refer a student they are concerned about.

This is done securely in the WCS interface through the Portal.

After reviewing the referral, the Student Success Specialist,

or academic advisor, will attempt to contact the student and offer their support and assistance.

Common information provided in these meetings consist of study skills,

learning styles, tutoring options, various petition processes,

and information related to campus and office resources.

Although I meet with students that are referred by faculty through WCS,

I serve all undergraduate students at Western.

I don't always have the answer and if I don't, I usually can direct you to the best resource on campus to assist you.

This environment offers a variety of articles related to common issues students face while in college.
