If you want to save your degree evaluation as a PDF you can do so by clicking the Save to PDF button, and it will save as a PDF which is printable 00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:37.000 If you look on the far left hand side you will see a legend. 00:02:37.000 --> 00:02:46.000 And the legend will help you understand the icons throughout the degree evaluation. The green checkmark means something is complete. 00:02:46.000 --> 00:02:52.000 The blue tilde means that something is met with courses in progress except possibly with unmet conditions. 00:02:52.000 --> 00:02:56.000 The red exclamation point says Consult Resitrar's Office 00:02:56.000 --> 00:02:60.000 And this typically means that something is not quite complete. 00:03:00.000 --> 00:03:04.000 And the red box is not complete. 00:03:04.000 --> 00:03:08.000 The at symbol is any course number so it is a wild card. 00:03:08.000 --> 00:03:12.000 The first section you will see is your student data. 00:03:12.000 --> 00:03:16.000 and this data, if it is not correct you should probably get it updated. 00:03:16.000 --> 00:03:20.000 It will show you, if you have them, your advisors. 00:03:20.000 --> 00:03:25.000 Your academic standing, your anticipated grad term 00:03:25.000 --> 00:03:30.000 We have provided a link so that you can view your holds 00:03:30.000 --> 00:03:38.000 On the far right hand side you can see your circulate information, so our test student here is an undergraduate bachelor of arts. 00:03:38.000 --> 00:03:45.000 Communication studies major with a minor in art-studio art with a catalog term of 2013 00:03:45.000 --> 00:03:52.000 it is very important that this information is correct because if it is not your degree evaluation will not give you the correct advice. 00:03:52.000 --> 00:03:58.000 When you are looking at your degree evaluation the first section that you will see is your degree section. 00:03:58.000 --> 00:03:64.000 And this tells you everything you need to know in order to complete your degree. So for this particular student 00:04:04.000 --> 00:04:08.000 They have to have a minimum of 180 credits. 00:04:08.000 --> 00:04:22.000 To graduate, an institutional GPA of 2.0, a minimum of 62 upper division credits 00:04:22.000 --> 00:04:27.000 And 45 of the last 60 credits they complete must be taken at Western 00:04:27.000 --> 00:04:31.000 Those are what we call unmet conditions, they always appear at the top of every block 00:04:31.000 --> 00:04:37.000 A block is signified by the red bar, so this is the degree block. 00:04:37.000 --> 00:04:48.000 Blocks also have rules in them and that is what these are, so for the degree you have to have an application for degree and program plan on file. 00:04:48.000 --> 00:04:56.000 You have to have a major, a minor, LACC and additional graduation requirements. 00:04:56.000 --> 00:04:64.000 Those may vary depending on if you are a double major or a double degree, but generally speaking they are the same. 00:05:04.000 --> 00:05:12.000 The next block that you will come to is your major block and it is laid out pretty much that same way, unmet conditions and then rules. 00:05:12.000 --> 00:05:24.000 The minor block will follow and then your LACC, additional graduation requirements 00:05:24.000 --> 00:05:32.000 And then at the very bottom you may see various sections, so you might see an elective section and those are courses that do not apply anywhere else on your audit, you might see 00:05:32.000 --> 00:05:36.000 in progress and those are courses you are currently registered for. 00:05:36.000 --> 00:05:46.000 You might see insufficient which are courses that do not count. Those would be your W grades, your X grades, your Incomplete, RP grades which are regular progress grades would appear there. 00:05:46.000 --> 00:05:54.000 until they are graded, F grades might appear in there, and you might see not counted and that section would hold any 00:05:54.000 --> 00:05:59.000 pre requisites or remedial credits such as Math 95 or Math 70. 00:06:00.000 --> 00:06:06.000 Which do not apply to your degree evaluation because they are not considered college level, but you would see them there in a section called not counted. 00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:14.000 You might also see an exceptions section that would list any course substations that may have been submitted for you. 00:06:14.000 --> 00:06:23.000 That's the basics of the Degree Evaluation.
