I switched my major to art here at Western because it's close to home, it has a great reputation,

I was an education major but I took an introductory art course and discovered that that was my passion and calling in college.

This term I'm taking advanced sculpture.

I'm currently working on an alabaster stone piece.

Which is a different medium than I usually work in which is wood.

Deciding to be able to engage in a new medium and discover new things and new techniques.

I'm also happy to have the opportunity to rock climb at the Health and Wellness Center.

I've been interested in climbing for about two years.

And it really offers me a chance to hone my skills and learn more techniques and methods.

Another great thing about Western is that here I have the opportunity to show my art work in the gallery.

My career goal is to teach art in a university or a college.

With my degree from Western I've already been able to get accepted into graduate school.

In a few years, I can see myself in a mentorship role helping students find their own voices and artists and their true passion.
