I decided to major in interdisciplinary studies at Western because I wanted a broad variety of focus areas for my degree.

For my interdisciplinary studies degree this term, I'm taking healthy relationships and today we talked about different personality traits.

We study different way to communicate, how to better our relationships with our family and friends.

And the other course that I' m taking is child and adolescent health.

That is a class based on studying different issues that child and adolescents face; stress, substance use and abuse, anxiety.

I think two of the best things about Western are the campus size and the class sizes.

We really promote a small campus feel.

And the class sizes top out at 22 for most of the classes that we take.

So you really get a hands-on experience with your professors and you get to know them on a name-by-name basis.

Another thing I'm excited about here at Western is our study abroad program.

They can take you to almost 50 countries and you can choose to do a study abroad or internship experience.

If you do a study abroad experience, then you get the full language immersion.

And if you do an internship you get the hands-on experience.

For my career goal, I don't know exactly what I want to yet.

But that's the beauty of the interdisciplinary studies degree when you're focusing in humanities, social sciences, health and P.E.
