And today I'm going to walk you through the WOU Alert Emergency Notification System.

WOU Alert is the name of the system that we use to quickly notify well everybody in the case of a natural disaster or some other significant event on campus.

WOU does not use this system to notify for the weather or parking lot closures so you'll only receive emergency notifications.

Let me show you how it works.

To access WOU Alert, we'll start from the WOU homepage.

At the top you will see a link to Portal.

By logging into Portal, you will have access to all the campus systems with your PawPrint account.

Now you should see a page that looks like this.

In the upper right hand corner, you will see a red icon that says WOU Alert.

By clicking on WOU Alert, I arrive at this screen which displays my contact information.

Now if I click edit next to my profile, WOU Alert will let me update my emergency contact information and put it in the order that I choose.

You can use any of the contact types in the list but we really recommend that you put SMS Text or your Mobile phone number at the top.

Email can take a long time to get to you and on campus phone numbers are limited.

I'll just enter my phone numbers here.

And again here.

Then I can push up or down on each contact path and put it in the order that I want it to be in.

We've included alternate text, alternate phone and alternate email if you want to notify a parent or significant other.

When done, scroll down and click save.

When you get alerts in the future, please remember to confirm that you got the message even if it's just a test.

And to make it easier to remember, you might want to add the WOU Alert phone number to your contact list for future notifications.
