My Sophos shield icon has disappeared twice 
today.  I reinstalled Sophos after the first 
disappearance and will do so again.  I heard from 
my colleagues in the Natural Science building 
that they had similar problems and that the 
missing icon also meant missing protection.

In addition, I was unable to save several files 
this morning.  The behavior was similar to 
behavior I observed several weeks ago when my 
computer was one of several on campus having 
a "nasty" piece of malware.
